Mere Blather started as a daily writing project in 2014. The author spent most of the year writing about himself and his history with occasional forays into hobbies and other things that are actually interesting.

The blog now focuses more on the author’s hobbies, which include pens, knives and wasting time. It still, on occasion, delves into more personal stuff about the author, including his life in Japan.

    Hi –
I’m on a quest to try to repair (or find a spare part for) my Pilot Capless facetted Pen. I have two of these – a standard black (with the steel clip) and a ‘stealth black’ which is the all-black model.
Unfortunately the barrel of the standard model has cracked and therefore can no longer be screwed tightly onto the main body.
Do you know if it is possible to repair these or get spare parts? I love this version of the Capless pen – I find the body of the modern version way too thick.

Any pointers/advice you can give would be much appreciated.
    Many thanks

I took mine to a department store pen shop and asked them if it was possible to get a new barrel. They sent it off to Pilot and I was lucky enough to get one. I doubt I could have got a second one. I never attempted to repair one, though. You might be able to find a pen maker willing to glue the crack.
